A006: Cinnamon Girl

For some reasons there’s often a stigma surrounding guitars that have needed a neck repair. Cinnamon Girl, a 19xx Les Paul is the best example we’ve seen of why the negative feelings are misplaced. The neck repair on this guitar is so good, it’ll make you wonder why Gibson don’t pre-empt their fragile-neck problem and make all of their guitars come out of the factory like this.

Neck repair aside, Cinnamon Girl came with a few dinks that have now been turned into one of John’ signature crackle-burst finishes. When you see her in the flesh, you also begin to wonder why Gibson don’t put this finish on all their guitars.

Cinnamon Girl doesn’t just look great though. She plays like a dream following the precisest of precision set-ups. Her action is about as low as you’ll ever see. And she sounds like a screaming choir of angels. An absolute joy that, again, has me wishing I was born righthanded.
